Printer Friendly PageOverview

A large part of any working day is involved in some form of analysis and problem solving. We are all constantly presented with situations that require us to analyse the problem, decide on the best course of action, and put forward a solution. This course formalises that process and gives delegates the tools to get it right.

To develop and practice the skills necessary to clearly analyse problems and reduce them to their fundamental elements, to develop the broadest range of possible solutions and then to decide amongst these to deliver the best available solution.

Who should attend?

Anyone looking to develop a fresh approach to solving problems at work.

What you will learn?

The ability to clearly identify and assess the nature of problems, and evolve a broad range of options before deciding upon the most effective solution. Learn how to develop decision criteria for evaluating and deciding between solutions and deliver a clear analysis of the decision taken.

Learning points

By the end of the course, you will be able to: -

  • Clearly identify and assess the nature of the problem.
  • Distinguish between maintenance and achievement problems and learn how to approach either
  • Develop the broadest range of solutions to the identified problem.
  • Work efficiently towards the best available solution.
  • Develop decision criteria for evaluating and deciding between solutions.

Pre-course work

Prior to attending the course you will undertake a brief activity to identify situations where you have needed to analyse a problem and solve it. Your course tutor will then be in a position to help you analyse this during the training.
