Overview
This is a one day workshop for those who, due to structural changes wish to review their career decisions and consider different career options.
This is an interactive day in which you share your situations and thoughts with other participants and engage in lively exercises and discussions. Nobody will tell you what career is right for you – instead, you can take control of your career by taking time out to consider where you want to be and how to get there.
The day is focussed around the four phases of the Career Development Model: -
- Self Awareness
- Career Related Resources
- Decision Making
- Career Related Competences
Course Objectives
By the end of this workshop you will be able to: -
- Understand the process of career planning
- Reflect on your career choices within the context of the GO Network and externally
- Develop and understanding of what motivates you, your aspirations, skills, achievements and knowledge
- Reflect on general ideas for future career and jobs
- Feel energised and excited with clear ideas for next steps
- Develop an action plan to get moving forward
Pre-Course Work
Government Office participants will prepare for the workshop by identifying and reviewing their work record highlighting skills, achievements, knowledge and qualifications. An outline template will be sent out ahead of the workshop for participants to complete and return.
