Overview
This skill is very important throughout the Government Departments; it is particularly important to learn how to draft in a clear, concise and professional way. It is often the case that the subjects to be dealt with will be complicated and require subtle handling, and it is therefore very important that your skills are well developed.
Course aims
To provide delegates with information, insight, examples and practical experience to allow them to draft ministerial support unit (MSU) cases, parliamentary questions and submissions more effectively and with greater confidence.
Who should attend?
Any member of Local or Central Government who needs to draft MSU’s, answers to PQ’s and anyone wishing to develop these skills prior to moving into such a role.
What you will gain
Have an opportunity to look closely at areas such as the importance of plain English, gender neutral language, punctuation and grammar. In-group and individual work, draft and receive feedback. Develop a clear understanding of the responsibilities of the drafter and of using an appropriate style.
