Overview
Meetings and business discussions are a vital part of any organisations decision-making process and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external partners is becoming increasingly important across all sectors.
Effective communication includes; the ability to write and speak clearly, concisely and where necessary persuasively for the target audience; the ability to understand the issues surrounding the facilitation of meetings, conferences and workshops and utilise the skills and qualities needed to act as effective facilitators; the ability to speak and present to varied groups with confidence and professionalism.
Course Aims
To practice advanced techniques for guiding group discussion from diverse viewpoints to positive, consensus decisions.
Who should attend this course?
Anyone who has attended Facilitation Skills: Stage One training and would like to further develop their skills. Please note that it is recommended that you have either attended Facilitation Skills: Stage One or have experience of facilitating prior to attending Facilitation Skills: Stage Two. In order for us to ascertain your current level of experience, you will be asked to complete a brief mandatory questionnaire when booking the course.
Objectives
The objectives of the workshops are: -
- To identify and consolidate personal credentials for facilitators
- To understand how individual relationships effect group dynamics
- To examine and be able to adopt different facilitative styles
- To understand how to make timely and appropriate interventions
- To be able to act firmly whilst maintaining consensus
