Overview
For managers and supervisors who are responsible for leading a team and who are either new to management, need the co-operation of others to do their job, or wish to appraise their leadership style.
Course aims
The course will develop an appreciation of the issues and skills necessary for the effective leadership and management of individuals and teams.

Supervisors and team leaders who wish to develop their leadership skills to motivate and lead their team to achieve results.
What you will gain
Understand the roles and functions of the team leader. Gain insights into ways of coping with particular situations and scenarios that will arise in your career as a manager of a team of people. Receive practical advice on techniques for communicating with and getting the best out of your team.

By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Ensure your team delivers the required results effectively.
- Identify the characteristics of an effective team.
- Assess your own leadership capabilities and style.
- Reach agreements that have the commitment of the whole group.
- Assess your own and your teams preferred Belbin team roles.
- Overcome common team problems.
- Develop an action plan for motivating your team.
Pre-course work required
All delegates will be require to complete a Belbin questionnaire prior to attending.
