Printer Friendly PageOverview

This 'short day' course is run on your own site so that it can be focused on your specific projects. It explains not only what PRINCE2 is, but also how it is justified in dealing with the major known causes of project problems as well as providing a powerful toolkit to make planning and controlling projects easier.

Most of the day is explanation of what PRINCE2 is and how it works, but there is room for discussion and also a short practical session that shows just why PRINCE2 planning is so effective.

As with all our events, Inspirandum will not just send ‘a trainer’ but rather an experienced practitioner who can fully explain how the method can be used to best effect. Our presenter will always be happy to answer questions and give advice during the day on using PRINCE2 on specific projects and to stay on at the end of the event to explain more, so you also get the advantage of experienced PRINCE2 consultancy advice.

Who should attend this course?

The PRINCE2 Overview is suitable for all staff who want to know what PRINCE is about and particularly how it can benefit projects in their organisation. It is suitable for groups of 4 up to 50, but for best interaction we recommend a maximum of around 25.

Duration

The course runs for a 'short day', typically 10 am to 4 pm with 45 minutes for lunch. This gives staff an opportunity to clear urgent work matters at the beginning and end of the day. The start time can easily be adjusted so if you prefer 8 to 2 that is fine - as we did for a bank in the United Arab Emirates.

Adjusting the course content

While the event is designed to cover the whole method and the reasoning behind it, there is still scope for emphasising particular points and including some extra detail where this is of particular interest in the setting of your organisation. We will talk to you before the event to make sure that it is targeted precisely to meet your environment and objectives. You will have the advantage that even on the day, your presenter can respond to more detailed questions because of their wide knowledge and personal practical experience of using PRINCE2 on projects

The PRINCE Overview can be delivered in a shorter time (the fastest we have managed so far is 13 minutes for a group of senior managers in Hong Kong!) but clearly the content is reduced. To achieve good value for money by those attending having a clear understanding, we have found that the 6 hour 'short day' is ideal.

Wanting more detail than a 'short day'?

If you are looking for an event with more time for discussion and in-depth explanation (including how the PRINCE2 planning techniques work) but not the full PRINCE2 Practitioner course, then we can also run a 2 day event which includes more detail and some teaching on the powerful project planning approach.
