Overview
This course is suitable for those who wish to learn how to set up spreadsheets in SPSS and then undertake statistical analysis. We will look at how and when to undertake the most common statistical analysis and interpret the results with confidence.

This one day course will provide you with an underpinning knowledge of SPSS; not just how to use the functions but to understand how and why SPSS works the way it does. In doing so we intend that you will gain confidence to explore more of the many functions available.

Course Objectives
This course covers the following key topics: -
- the SPSS environment;
- juggling data (Labels, Data Dictionary, Importing Data);
- descriptive analysis;
- creating graphs.
- Create new variables using data transformation and recoding options
- Analyse categorical data, including Chi-Squared and Fisher's Exact Tests
- Compare independent groups using parametric tests (including the t-test and analysis of variance) and non-parametric tests (including the Wilcoxon Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests)
- Interpret the results of a statistical test with confidence
