CSCS Certification

To be eligible for a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card, you must have passed the relevant level of the CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test within the past two years or an approved alternative.

The test aims to evaluate knowledge across a broad spectrum of topics to enhance safety and productivity on the site. It is a crucial method for construction workers to demonstrate to their employers that they can work safely on the job.

There are three types of CITB HS&E tests available:

Operatives

The HS&E test evaluates the fundamental level of health, safety, and environmental awareness. This test is mandatory when applying for the Labourer card, the Trainee card, the Apprentice card, most Blue Skilled Worker cards, and most Gold Advanced Craft cards.
